Week 10 DIAA Championships Records Fall at Killens as Sam Parsons crushes boys' record (15:34) and Julie Macedo and Haley Pierce tie the girls' record (17:28)!! CLICK HERE FOR STATE MEET PICTURES BY BUD KEEGAN Mckenna, Parsons, Macedo, and Pierce Salesianum boys and Tatnall boys took home convincing first place trophies in the boys races at Killens Pond on Saturday! Salesianum placed 6 in the top 16 to run away with Division I. Tatnall went 1,2,4, and 10 to win by 29 points!! McKenna and Parsons stole the show with runaway wins!! Sam Parsonscrushed the existing course record by 10 seconds, and he also shattered the existing state record by 21 seconds. McKenna had the #2 time of the day in 15:58, just 2 seconds shy of the old state record. Charter boys and Archmere boys came away with the Division I and Division II second place trophies!! Charter and Tatnall girls also had dominant team performances in their respective races. Tatnall came away with a perfect 15 points, sweeping 1-5, and taking places 7 and 12 for the victory. Charter placed 4 in the top 10 to win for the third straight year! All eyes were on Pierce and Macedo, and when the results were posted both girls finished with the exact same time!! Pierce's final time gives her the de facto course record, but they both ran impressive races in solo efforts. St. Mark's finished 2nd in division I, and Ursuline came away with the Division II 2nd place trophy. Official Results Week 9 Reagan Anderson wins in 18:04 as Tatnall girls repeat over Charter and Padua, 26-75-100. The built-up race of the day was between #1 ranked and nationally undefeated Julie Macedo against #14 ranked and 2-time defending champion Haley Pierce. No one could have scripted the finish, but the girls ran each other into the ground in an attempt to prove their excellence. With just 800M to go the course record was easily in jeopardy, but in the end Tatnall's Reagan Anderson was there to pick up the pieces and capture the county championships.
