••• DIAA Cross Country Championships to be Held at Killen's Pond in '07, White Clay Tentative site for '08

Tthe site of the 2007 DIAA State Cross Country meet has been confirmed to be Killen’s Pond State Park. DNREC has committed to work with DIAA and the State Cross Country Committee to make White Clay Creek the site for the 2008 meet, provided DIAA and the cross country committee address a number of issues such as traffic control, off site parking ,etc.  DNREC will also be making improvement to Brandywine Creek to make it a safer course.  And, DNREC and DIAA are evaluating the feasibility of adding Trappe Pond State Park near Laurel as a fourth site at which we could hold the state meets, as well as other events.  This would allow for a three county rotation and four possible sites.

But, the bottom line for 2007 is that we will hold the meet at Killens.  And I have tentatively schedule the 2008 meet for White Clay Creek.
